Id go for 24h straight. What mobo/hsf/voltage are you using. Just curious.

I usually go overnight (about 8 hrs or so) running distributed.net client or cpustability test. I've run prime95 before but imho it doesn't stress the cpu as much as the distributed.net client.

i usually burn a few cd's, watch a dvd or 2, play some cs and that usually works pretty good. I would think 4-10 hrs would be enough, but with me i like to do things pretty thorough.

Say you have a 1.2 t-bird and you let it run for a few days. Then I wanted to lower the multiplier to 9 and raise the fsb to 133, that would bring me to 1.2. Once I find a good stable overclock such as 10x140 or something when should I do the burn in? At 10x140. What if I want to overclock more?

i let the SiSoft run for 24 hours and recorded the temps . They went as high as 48 c (6:38 am ,mon) it started at 40c(5:45 p.m. sun ) just because the voltage is up to 1.888 @ 875 on A7v. at 4:41pm it was back to 43c so how low , will it get 40c? or will it go lower than 40c? I think I am going to let it go for one more day i will post results

no offense, but it pains me to hear when someone gets a SuperOrb. Because thy are some of the most pitiful heatsinks you can buy.

did you actually read any of the messages in this thread? We suggest a couple right there that are great to use. SETI, distributed.net client, sisoft sandra, go to http://ww.tweakfiles.com and have a look around or go to http://www.google.com and do a search for these apps. Please, next time do a little reading before asking a really redundant question.

I apologize for my tone here, but I'm having a really bad day.

Without a doubt, the program that will stress a socket A T-bird or Duron is burnk6.exe, which is a program within the suite contained in cpuburn2. This is recommended by Swiftech. It will get your core up to temp in a matter of minutes and hold it there. Here is the download URL:

oh....... thats with The Super Orb I think it kicks ass . How much does Artic Silver drop the temp as opposed to that cheap white stuff that came with it

silentbob,
heard after your burn in you clocked 975 without a problem. Are you going to try another burn in at 975 and then clock any higher?

Going to try to get voltages down cuz 41c is ok if it is under load but that is idle temp and its not where I want to be . I know you use Artic Silver ( from reading in the older forums... hint hint newbies )How much did that lower your temps or did you just start with Artic Silver like I should have?
Why does my bios show my cpu fan at 13656 and Asus Probe3.27 shows a speed of 6305 oh I have the Super Orb , it is very loud , that, right now is the only drawback that I see
