I have an MSI MS-6330 K7T-R system board, and it has system monitoring capabilities. Now, the BIOS system status screen, the Fuzzy Logic III software that came with the MOBO, and the PC Alert III software that came with the MOBO all agree that the system runs between 125 and 131 F most times (if I switch from one app to another and then reboot and check the BIOS, they always agree).
However, I installed Sisoft Sandra 2000 and it tells me that the CPU temp is 199 degrees F, whilst the case temp jives with the other and the "Power Supply Temp" is what jives with what the bundled apps and BIOS say for temp.
Which should I believe? I have an Athalon 900 O/C'd to 1092 (10.5 x with 104 FSB). The HS fan is a CoolerMaster aftermarket fan, I don't know which number, but it is the lower one in the Tom's Hardware test of CPU fans (www.tomshardware.com). I have a better fan coming...

Is my CPU frying or it Sisoft Sandra lying?

thanks
Chris

Bios: ALWAYS right, bundeled appz: right too, other software which were not made for your system specially are always questionable. Forget the sandra temp, seems like some max. temp because it can't detect the real one.

p.s. 130F is a little bit hot, getting that better cooler is not a bad idea if you want to use your CPU longer then one year. Be sure to use thermal grease!

Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded the new version of sisoft sandra and it now also agrees with all else as to temp. Must have just not been compatible with he bios.
Thanks!
