Is it a good idea to buy stock now

AMDS stock is at 7 right now.do you guys think its a good idea to buy some before a64 comes out.

Intel posts profits in the hundreds of millions and AMD posts losses in the hundreds of millions.

The next day AMD stock goes up and Intel's stock goes down.

Bit of a risk but if the A64 chip from AMD works like they are hinting at then the stock prices for AMD will spike.

AMD stock is a long-term security more than short-term. I say that because the tech bubble has come and gone and short of a technological MIRACLE, you won't see fast gains. Both AMD and Intel are a part of my IRA/ROTH IRA but AMD is not a part my regular trading portfolio whereas Intel is. I actively trade Intel (INTC) because Intel has enough capital, R&D and product variety for the stock to change price drastically enough to warrant active trading.
