I am an O/C virgin, and would LOVE to be able to get a bit more speed out of the above processor. I am on a limited budget, and am not very technically minded. Is there anything EASY that will boost my speed/performane? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, T

I have a GFD card that will overclock your 700 to 850
e-mail me for specs.

Anything easy would be to overclock your Front Side Bus, the frequinzy your mobo works on. This is done by setting jumpers or in the bios (depends on your mobo, read your manual for this). clock speed = multiplyer x FSB, this is how your speed goes. Overclocking your FSB also overclocks you PCI and AGP bus, memory and IDE devices, so they will work faster too, but when their unstable at high speed, they can cause the system to crash.

When you upp your FSB just remember to take LITTLE steps at a time and try and run at that speed for a time with some kind of CPU intensive program and see if it performs normally. With a little bit of luck you can get 110MHz bus, thus 770MHz.

If you would like to advance in the deeper recesses of overclocking, GFD overclocking and voltage increase with better cooling are the way to go when you want a major performance increase, see my signature. Set my athlon 500 multiplyer from 5 to 8 with increased voltage. Remember not to mess with voltage before you know you've got good cooling and temps OK (i.e. below 45°C). Increased voltage can increase your stability in windows (when comp starts hanging all the time in windows).
