Hi, I got a new T-Bird in retail box and have a new Abit KT7 Raid motherboard with 256 MB PC133 Kingston RAM. I messed around a little bit and couldn't overclock the chip past 1.26Ghz. Can someone help me with what kind of settings I should use or what I have to do to get this T-Bird overclocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
All I had to do with mine was change the multiplier to 12.5 and start raising the FSB a notch or 2 at a time untill It wouldnt boot and then back it down a notch on the FSB speed. Since my 1.2 was a 200mhz FSB and not a 266mhz fsb chip, I had to raise the multiplier. Also try raising the core voltage from the default 1.75v to 1.8 or 1.9 if it seems unstable at the higher speeds.
I am guessing that you are set at 12x100 ??
first try moving the fsb up some.
Or set the clock to 12.5 x100=1250
on mine I am at 11 and 130 fsb for 1.43
I have cheap ram but the 266 fsb 1.2 and the 266 fsb ABIT KT7A

Yes I am at 12 X 100 right now. How high can the T-Bird be overclocked to or what are some good setting to start at?
Thanks
Try to drop the chip to 9x133.If you can boot and run at this setting you then have a lot of room to O/C.
Then you set processor to 9.5,If it is stable you are at like 1.3 something.
Or try to set voltage to 1.775,and fsb to 101,102,103,104,105,106,107,108, Get it lol.{Chip at 12}
