Ok, I know that overclocking is all based on the particular processor that you get but what have you guys had the bets experience with ? My goal is to get to 1ghz, anything higher is just extra that I don't necessarily need. Which would give me the best chance of getting that? THe tbird is a last resort if the durons are too chancy. I got the following prices on these processors: (NOTE It's In CANADIAN dollars hehe):

$89 AMD Duron 700 OEM
$95 AMD Duron 750 OEM
$115 AMD Duron 800 OEM
$179 AMD Athlon T-B 850 OEM

I was thinking about the Duron 800, cause it looks like a good price and easy to hit 1ghz at but haven't heard from anyone else on this one. SO let me know, and if you recommend a particular hsf let me know, cause I'll have to get one too. By the way i'd match the processors up with an Asus A7V133.

Thanks

well, im running a duron 700 at 1050mhz on an asus a7v. i dunno if this is typical, but if you want to be sure of the gig then get the duron 800.....im positive it would reach 1ghz.

I'm getting 1000 rock solid out of my 600 Duron on a KT7-R motherboard. I see from Pricewatch that the 700 Duron is the same price as the 600, $42 US. Of course, the dealers burn you an extra $10+ dollars on shipping. Sandra2001 reports my system performs a little bit better than an T-bird 1000. Must be based upon that T-bird system using PC100 ram or something. anyway, I recommend the Duron in whatever speed you get it.
