View Full Version : Athlon 1.2 Ghz 266 FSB matters...

I'm having problem overclocking the Athlon 1.2 Ghz 266FSB with my Asus A7V133. Basically, after I changed the clock multiplier from 9.0(*133=1200) to 10(*133=1333) or if I change the FSB from 133 to anything higher, my system wouldn't boot up.
I've try increasing the VCore voltage all the way up to 1.85 with no success. For a 1.2 Ghz, what is the factory multiplier and frequency anyway? Is 9*133=1200 correct? Or is it 12*100=1200?
I guess one of the reasons why I have problem overclocking is that I don't even know the correct clock multiplier and frequency for the 1.2 Ghz.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

9x 133 is right. it is possible that your cpu won't reach 1333 mhz. i just bought a 1.2 100 mhz bus and it will barely do 1320 mhz :( try 9.5 x 133, then slowly raise the fsb. good luck
WAHOO! I feel lucky, I got my 1.2 266fsb to run at 1456 without a problem. Don't mean to rub it in, but I think I can get it higher. BTW, it came factory unlocked and has a blue core.

where did you order your cpu from? I am RMA'ing mine back and I am going to score a 266 fsb model. It is just too agonizing to waste a 170 mhz bus on a cpu that wont get over 1300 stable :( also did you check the codes on your t-bird? is it the AXIA model? I really want a cpu that can hit 1445 (8.5 x 170). btw, CONGRATULATIONS :)

I remember mine is AXIA. What kind of mobo you use? Mine is an Asus A7V133. No luck with it. I guess it's doing me no good. Glad yours work fine. Not mine.

kk266-r rev 1.2 w/ 256mb stick of tonicom pc166. It does 170 bus speed at cas2 and 4 way interleave. Mobo and memory rock but the cpu sputters :(
I got mine from www.newegg.com I am not sure, because I have not really looked at it, but I think its an AXIA. BTW, I'm using a MSI K7T Turbo-R. I currently only have my fsb at 116, so I'd like to get it to about 140-145
I am at 1.43 130x11 On the 1.2 266fsb processor on the abit KT7A,Stable as a stone.I just got new ram that was a conjob,This site advertises pc133 cas2 MICRON.Wll it is a micron chip on a 3rd party board and runs cas 3 at 133,called them and can RMA it with no charges at all but I am stilled so pissed to have been lied to like that.
I am going to order real ram and hope to get beyond 1.5.The company that sold me the **** ram is POWERUP,INC thay are on price watch. I turned there asses in for representing micron, and selling a micron chip on a 3rd party board. My generic cas 3 pc133 actually benches better in SiSoft Sandra.
