Word of advice for the KT7A, take the heatsink and fan off of the motherboard, add some artic silver 2 onto the chipset and re-apply heatsink and fan.

Just helps cool it a little bit extra.

Also get the latest BIOS flash, fixes a few bugs, see attached bios flash final version. Or downloaded it from AthlonOC (http://www.athlonoc.com/downloads.htm) (don't worry about the name, does all AMD's)

1. Adds an option to enable/disable CPU protection (fan1 error
checking) function and changes the default setting to be
disabled.
2. Fixes wrongful register setting of "Bank x/y Dram Timing"
for some special configurations.
3. Changes CPU FSB from 133MHz to 133.33MHz for specific Athlon
processors.
4. Fixes system-hang issue when running Sisoft Sandra 2000 Professtional.
5. Supports FlashMenu utility.
6. HPT 370 RAID BIOS verson 1.0.3b1.
7. BIOS compile date: 1/29/2001

Hope this helps - Have fun.

Hey that's nice I don't think U'd need a microscope to do the L1's just find some powerful magnifying glass.
I can't understand hoe did U manage to put the duron under the microscope cos that thing is thick and the light can't go through. Beats me!!!!

well i got my arctic silver and my heatsink and fan
what do i do with the arctic silver isnt it permanent
so if i put the fan on the chip the fan will not be able to be taken off??

That all depends. If you bought AS adhesive, it's rather permanent. If you bought AS grease, it cleans off.
