What buss speed and mhz would you guys suggest. My room mate just ordered a asus board supporting up to 266mhz fsb and DDR ram. He isn't going to be overclocking and is looking for bang for the buck. What do you guys suggest.

I thought I wasn't going to overclock my Duron 650 at all either. Little by little I got more curious about it and then I found this webpage. It's an addiction, like getting tattoos. First it's the processor, then it's ram, the hard drive, vid card, power supply...case.....just tell your friend to give in now, get the 1.2ghz t-bird if money's no option and then show him what it's capable of with a little bios tweaking.

If he's on a tight budget (doesn't sould like it), he can consider a 650 T-bird for $59.00. It runs 650, 700 and 750 without upping the voltage, but he will need to do the L1 trace mod.
