Damage CPU?

I have a OEM 1.1ghz AMD SocketA CPU.

How do I know if CPU is damage?
It still runs but heat is high.

Can I dismiss faulty CPU for lack of good air circulation/heaksink/CPU contact with heatsink?

Hopefully, someone can shine the light on my mind boggling matter.

Lastly, CPU is not OC and wont be until I do a burnin.

What are your temps?

What hsf are you using?

Did you use thermal grease?

This will give everybody a better idea of how to help you.

Having just fried a 1GHz TBird, if its running, you're probably all right. It only takes a matter of seconds to completely toast one. Just make sure you have an adequate hsf, and that it is completely seated on the core.
