I remember a few weeks/months ago there was some concern about stickers being placed on the bottom of Duron chips. Well, you guessed it, I got one with a sticker on the bottom. Anyone know if AMD will honor the warranty if there is a sticker on it?

Should I let the reseller know that they are not supposed to put a sticker on the bottom?

Needless to say, the sticker got the axe as soon as I got it....

The folks i got my 650 T-bird from put a sticker on top of the CPU! Not on the core, but definitely not a sign of intelligent life. It came off, but I had to clean off the residue with some solvent. Some people...

I'm not positive about AMD, but whoever you bought the chip from should have at least an OEM warranty(something like 15 days) on it. You should contact who you got it from and find out quick. I just got one with a sticker covering the L-7 bridges. Don't know, but maybe this is a new dumb-dealer thing.

I have to wonder about the resellers... My sticker is on bottom, which on first thought a good place to put it. But makes me wonder about the secondry heat dissipation pathways and just how important this is the processor life.

I was going to call the reseller back tomorrow, though I would wait and see if my posts get any more response.

AMD will automatically RMA any burned chips with a sticker on the bottom put there by the reseller ,they believe it to cause heat buildup ,and tell the resellers not to do it ,they will also only do it once for an OEM chip
