They have put a new processor P2.4C and Memory in my system, and I use Windows XP Home.

They did not a clean install. isn't it better to do this ??

With SP1 ??

You should be fine :D

You do not need to do a clean install. Your bios and WinXP should recognize the new CPU and adding more ram never needs a fresh install.

I would run windows update because windows xp has cpu drivers it may need to update.

Thanks for your reply:)

I must honestly say that I did XP (Home) as an upgrade of Windows 98SE.....people say thats a NO..NO:D

So I did a clean install. with only XP-Home...just in case.

why did you upgrade? aren't you going to miss the random freezing and BSOD ( Blue screen of death)

hehe - Ahh the days of Windows 98. -- - -- - - - The horror!

Yea it is better than you did a clean install.
