Just did a look for 1.2 266 and 5 or six sites have oem and retail chips.
2 questions

1) why are they all talking about blue core on the oem and copper conductors on the retail?
Check atacom and they have blue and copper conductors on every AMD chip.
Now aren't all 1.2 chips copper conductors?

2) Been several post hinting about 1.2 266 chips OC higher than the 200 chips, any truth to this?

Thanks for any comments I just hate to have to read thru the hype without saying BS to everything I read.

I read yesterday in a review that AMD said there are "no" copper interconnects on this core series. They didn't think the current (copper) technology was worth changing their production. Supposedly they addressed the New factory (can't remember where this is) and said they don't make them with copper either.

The reviewer said to look for copper in the .13 micron process and not before. Maybe the new factory makes a tighter core or something but it's not supposed to have copper in it.

Dresden germany is set up and does make the copper cores you can find this info at AMD.

Yup, thats right...and Dresden is the only plant that fabs the copper core jobs. The Austin Texas plant only fabs the aluminum core cpu's and they do not O/C nearly as well as the copper core ones do...and they run hotter. I have heard...fairly reliably, that the plant in Dresden is, or was shut down for retooling..and the only processors that were being shipped in recent months were aluminum.
