Hi, I have a K6BV3+/66 motherboard and a K6-2 500 chip. I've successfully OCed to 550 , which is the maximum the board supposedly supports, with no problems. However, listed in the CPU database of this site is some dude who OCed his 500 to 744 on a K6XV3+/66 board. This board has the same speed restrictions as mine. How can one pull this off? Thanks for any help.

i looked at that two my mate has an msi board he got a k62 500 but he can only get it to 523 stabble i told him about that and he was interrested in getting his up to 744 suprisingly but the only way i can see to do it is to have some type of board changes done because his only supports max 100 bus and 5.5 multiplyer as i asume yours does so the only way i think it can be done is to change the board.
if anybody else nos diffrent let me no

Just a thought. In my experience with the K6III+ chips, AMD made the 2X multiplier equal 6X. Although the POST may report it as 556MHz tests confirm it as 600MHz. That combined with FSB would give you more O-C possiblities.
