how much water dye?

I got a water sys up, 'n the ppl who I got the water dye said to only use 3-5 drops, but I did that 'n it's not lighting up when I turn on the UV light, so wondering about how much water dye to use...

My guess would be to put a couple drops at a time until it starts to glow.
