can any1 help me.. i'm planning to sell my Duron 700 and i plan to get a Duron 800 or Tbird 750 or 850 (itz very hard to look for Tbird 800 here). Which one has the best oc capabilities?
i've heard that Duron 700 are poor OCs.. i wanna know whoz d best candidate to reach 1gig! should i get a Tbird 750 or a Duron 800?
This may sound odd, but if you want to hit 10x100, my Duron 600 did it rather effortlessly. It took 1.8V on the core to accomplish this.
I have my suspicions why, but I have never seen a technical reason proffered as to why 600s seem to fare better than 700s and 750s in reaching 1Ghz.

My 650 hits 1055mhz. I've heard the 600/650's are great oc'ers

I would say wait one more month if ya can then depending on your money situation oder a 1Ghz T-bird online, probably be able to get one for $150 by then.
I don't get it.Why do U want to sell your Duron 700 my 700 has gone up to a gig with no problem at all. I think U should keep your Duron and be happy with what U have got.If U are very determined to get a new one I would go for the 850 t-bird, they rock man. U should be able to hit 1 gig with it.

Hmm the best advice i could give you is to get a water cooler from....http://www.overclockershideout.com thats where i got mine for my tbird 850 and it SMOKES and stays like 3 degrees above ambient rooom Temp. :)
I just mounted a 120mm SUnon fan on the side to blow air directly on the cpu and it brough me down about 13oC. I then overclocked some more and brought my 650 from 1055 to 1080 and it's stable. The Sunon fan isn't too noisy either.

In your situation, I would have bought a Tbird 750 instead of the duron 800.
Its a few bucks more, but a Tbird 750 is still as fast as your now Duron900, and thats at stock speed!
You should be able to get 1000+ out of a Tbird750 with a FOP38 or some other good HSF...
You would need to get that Duron runing about 1200Mhz to keep up with an O/C'd Tbird 750.
