hey all, i'm just wondering if the 5600 U can be overclocked to compete with the 5800/5900 ? you know the same scenario as the G4 ti's ! does the 5600 have the same chipset and is just underclocked ? i'm thinking of upgrading my ti 4200, and i want the best card for the best price.. sure would like a 5900U but damnnn there expensive here in canada !

no, its architecture is not even the same, much more to the difference then just lower clock speeds. your best bet for top of the line performance and saving 100 bucks off top of the line price, is get the 5900 non ultra for around 370, then oc it to ultra speeds. my nu gets ultra speeds easily and i am sure will go further. then the only difference you are missing for the extra 130+ bucks is an extra 128mb video ram , which you really dont need on games now anyway. i run 128mb aperature in my bios with fastwrites on top of the 128mb card ram , and am satisfied.
a 5600 is basically as fast as a 4200 but has dx9 capabilities and does fsaa, and ansiotropic much better then a 4200, so would be faster in that dept, but thats it. you pay the extra 150+ for the 5900 nu and you will get a hell of alot more performance then a 5600 , and your 4200.
