View Full Version : Found a AXIA T-bird, first try too!
We'll thank god for the article posted on this site that went over which production codes to get for the T-birds! It's not like anyone helped me here...
Just to let everyone know, I went to a computer show in Southern California this weekend.
First chip I found was a 1ghz AXIA T-bird. ;D
Good luck I guess....
Right on! You want to talk luck? I ordered a CPU and they would not tell me anything about the core color or the markings on the CPU. I took my chances and it got here AXIA and factory unlocked! This is great! Post your results with your CPU so we know what to expect with AXIAs. You can view mine at my thread "AXIA 1.2 gig CPU tests"
I got an AXIA 1200 and I couldnt get it past about 1340. It did not like the default voltage of 1.75 either. It has steadily gone downhill since then. I am RMA'ing it right now in hopes of getting a good one.
Well after a string of Murphys here, I finally got my 1.2 gig AXIA stable at 1425 mHz with 2.06 volts, then the seal in my pump went out. It will run Win2K at 1483 mHz with 2.17 volts but fails the Prime self test. Perhaps it will improve with burn in, both of my other Birds did.
For comparison, the 1 gig AJFA Bird I bought in December does 1363 mHz at 2.05 volts. Statistically, this is a better overclock. If my AXIA can ever match this, I will be pleased.
