This is my first post here...not a very good question, but they will get more challanging, I promise. i just got my 1.2 GHz 266fsb, and curious how tell if the multiplier has been locked? I've read through many of the posts (lines on the L1 an so on...blue versus purple chips etc.), but still not quite sure what i am looking for? Is it just a matter of loading it in, and seeing if the BIOS allows you to adjust it? If it is locked, is the pencil trick the best (easiest) way to unlock it? Thanks in advance for all the help you guys have offered in previous posts, and are going to provide in the future. This forum rocks!!!!

Your chip should be unlocked. I have yet to see or hear of a 1.2 C series chip that is locked. Look at the L1 bridges with a loop. If they are intact, it's unlocked.

HAHAH thats pretty good. That would be cool if you could network 2 boards like that and makr them run as 1 super computer. Kind of like a Dual motherboard, but with more options!
