actually no. most people asking for help would post their systems specs so people who were going to help them would not have to click an extra link and load an extra page for the priviledge of helping someone else. and then most people wouldn't be curt with people asking normal questions. just a thought... use it, don't use it...
as to your question.. the abit kt7a (with or without raid), epox 8kta3 and asus a7v133 are all top motherboards. be sure to get one that has the kt133a chipset whatever you get. and also one that allows for low voltages for palomino support. i know the kt7a and 8kta3 are okay. not sure about the a7v133, but there was an article on this on the front page a while back. have a look for it.
Thanks for the info but in my defence I was just asking for suggestion not actually ask for help
I actually went to your config link, but it didn't help me because I didn't know what a GA-71XE4 motherboard was.
The point being, I was going to say that I am also using a Tbird 650 on a non-KT133A motherboard and I can get my 650 up to 950 just upping the core voltage and OC'ing the multiplier.
Note: Not for the cooling challenged setup.
I have a KT-133A based motherboard on the way, so I will be able to up the FSB. I expect to be able to hit a higher total OC with that change.

Ironic that it's a "real man's" board when most Abit board end up making you cry like a baby from the instability problems :)
I'm a big fan of my newly purchased IWill KK266. After working out my SB Live in Win2k problems, I'm running my 1GHz/266 Tbird at 155x8 with no problems at all.

There are problems and successes with every board whether it's an Abit, Asus, Iwill, etc. I am a big fan of people looking at the major manufacturers and selecting a board that has the features they are looking for. :)

Unfortunately, you cant get Iwill in Uk or Irelnad. Damn..
I came within a hair of buy a KK266, since newegg.com was shipping them FEDEX saver for free. That is, until I read that the voltage range on them was only 1.5-1.85. Kinda narrow for any new technology that may be looming on the horizon, that uses a voltage lower than 1.5. My 600 Duron runs 600 at 1.375V. Not that I choose to run it that slow, but I'd be wasting heat at 1.5V. I went with the KT7A instead. I'm already familiar with the KT7 and it has run rock solid for me so far. 'Nuff said
