Is there any software that will tell you where the chip was made (Costa or Malay) or is the only way to look at the stamping on the IHS? :confused:

All you have to do is look at the FPO/Batch Code on the Box or the IHS. most likely it will either begin with an L or a 3. If it starts with an L it is a malaysian chip. 3 = Costa Rica. There are a few other ones that go with each can't quite remember but I think Q is also a malaysian chip. :D

What if the chip is an OEM & you have no box with the FPO on it? I just don't know if the plant info is encoded into the chip or just stamped on it.
