WELCOME TO THE FORUMS

true control has a pointless thing that goes in the 5.25 bays that lets you control voltages...

EDIT: linky (http://www.antec-inc.com/pro_details_powerSupply.php?ProdID=20552)

Pointless? Hardly. It allows you to easily adjust the 3.3v, 5v and 12v rails with knobs that go into a 5.25 bay. This is excellent for OC'd machines that need more voltage to any particular line.

why do you need to adjust it though? It doesn't matter if you can lessen it right? I don't get it. It dosen't get any higher than a regular true power.... explain?

It isn't that difficult; if one of your rails is low, you turn the knob and give it more voltage.

But your not going to get anymore power from a true control than a true power... why would you turn it down in the first place?

Do you use MBM or any voltage/temp monitoring software? If you do, what are the values of your 12V, 5V and 3.3V lines at load? Lets say your 5V is at 4.80 at load. That is a bit low as it should read 5V. With a True Control, you turn the pot for the 5V rail until the voltage on that line is 5V. Get it? With a True Power you do NOT have that adjustment feature.

Even with a high quality psu, the lines can change based on what you have running. The true control has +-10% change- so you KNOW that your voltages are good. I have my true control set up so the voltages are EXACTLY on spec- its awesome.

glad somebody posted about this... i've been debating the true control 550 from the truepower 550 for about the past 2 hours now....

time to upgrade from the 400W generic so i can actually overclock this beast :)

it makes me feel better when i have my rails on spec as well, i can adjust them with my 510w pcp&c deluxe
