View Full Version : CPU temps, What to believe?
Ok, howabout this.... My bios reads 36C, MBM reads 40C, And Sandra reads 38C. Which do I believe? I plan to get a sensor to place on the CPU, but not for a couple weeks. Does anyone know of a good program for accurately reading temps?

Good Luck. I have all 3 plus a SIS prog that came with mobo, so 4 progs. Got 4 different readings,HEHE. So I boot to bios then to windoze and used the one closest to the BIOS. They ALL LIE. Have fun :-)
OOPs, I had a power cable get stuck in my Delta fan and it shot the connection to the MOBO. Luckily everything is fine, I just cannot use my CPU fan connection on the MOBO. That means in order to get fan RPM ratings, I have to plug into the chasis plug-in but the cord isn't long enough. Oh well, I can do without RPM ratings for now. Damn lucky I still have a computer after this.
Your reading on bios is the one that is right. If you figure out what the differance between the bios reading and that of MBM you can still use MBM to monitor temps, just have to make a small mental adjustment.

the sandre is probably your best bet on temp. the bios one is so low because the cpu isn't stressed in the bios, otherwise we would never be able to get higher clocks because our cpu's would overheat before they got to windows
