Hola, my Abit kt7-raid will not allow my duron 700 to go any higher than 950-980 at differents fsb ant multiplier... is my cooling not god, no name hsf combo... temps at 40+ ti 50-...
i am not using any thermal compund....

whay is the highest you can get your fsb on your kt7-raid, mines 121 FSB

if you got your 700 at that speed, your prob maxed out or close to it. put arctic silver compound on and get a alpha
or swifttech h/s fan and try again

Your crazy. I'm suprised you got it that high. Put a small amount of any compound on, and see what you get, You'll be suprised.

I think he means he is using the thermal pad that comes on a lot of heatsinks today at least i hope so! When you put grease on it make sure you clean all of that goop off from the stock pad or you will have problems.

Your cooling could stand to be better you should take care of this before you try to go to crazy with the cpu. What are your voltages set at? Give us any info you can and we will make some recomendations.

I have a Duron 650 on a KT7-Raid motherboard and I'm hitting 1080mhz stably. My temps don't exceed 45oC. Get some arctic silver and an alpha 6035 from http://www.2cooltek.com and go nuts.

I'm certainly no pro, but my KT7A-R with a D700 goes to 954, no higher. FOP32, no name cpu grease. Have a friend with identical setup, except for a FOP38. Same results. Many durons max at 900-950 so don't be ashamed.

Senor,

Mira el problema es la temperatura. Compre un mejor HSF. Swiftech y GlobalWin WBK 38 son muy buenos. Heatsink factory.com tiene el HSF GlobalWin WBK38, y ese HSF sirve muy bien para mi. Tenia temperaturas asi como tienes y no queria hacer mas overclock, pero con el nuevo HSF se bajaron @ 35 celsius como nada con la pasta ArcticSilver II. Debe de limpiar el CPU muy bien con alcohol y un Q-Tip (vas a usar muchos Q-tips limpiandolo de todo la pasta vieja que puede ser muy dificil quitar). Despues de limpiarlo bien use el trick de la lapiz or lo que sea conectar los L1 bridges. Quite ese pinche pad del nuevo HSF usando el fingernail y ponga la pasta ArcticSilver II arriba del core del CPU no mas. Donde tiene toda la letera de clase de CPU de AMD muy chiquito con todos los numeros. De ninguna otra parte. Use muy muy poquito. Casi nada porque si la uses en la otra parte se va a freir por la electricidad de los circuits. Ponga POQUITO MUY POQUITO NO MAS! Tape el core no mas spreading it con el Q-tip. Ahora puedes poner el nuevo HSF. Ay que cool, y puedes obtener el maximo o ya casi del CPU. Case fans extra tambien puede hacer la diferencia. Abre el case o algo asi tambien y quites el cpu del sol, pero no lo tapes.

Hey Karma. que te pasa?? Tenes problemas con tu plana?? hace lo que te dice jj32., la explanation de el es muy buena. Te aseguro de que si compras una GLOBALWIN FOP32-1 o una ALPHA PAL6035, las temperaturas de tu plana se van a vajar mucho mas tambien. Ponele grasa a tu cpu si no lo haces vas a quemar el cpu.

Hey guys I got a duron 700 runing @950.I can telya It will not go higher than that.It goes into windows with 10 x 100@1.85v but then it freezes when i start prime95 the temps are oK with 39 idle.With the duron @ 950 the stress temps are 44 and idle 38.I have tried all combinations but It just doesn't work.I think heat is not an issue here. It might be my crappy duron.
