program mapper

I am looking for a software program mapper. I don't know if such a program exists but basically i want it to take an exe or a program, or even better, a directory of files and tell me what files each .exe uses.

for example. if i want to find out where a program stores its preferences, i tell the program to look at the .exe file, then it'll go down the line telling me all the files it needs in order to make itself run.

i don't know if such a creature exists but if anyone knows or has any ideas i would be appreciative.

There is a nifty little program called Process Viewer that functions like task manager should. It shows you all the currently running processes and what dlls and memory they are using. There are some other nifty features I can't remember off hand.
