I just ordered the ABIT ABIT NF7-S V2.0 Motherboard with the AMD Athlong XP 2500+ Barton with Kingston PC2700 333Mhz DDR 512MB and I have the Powmax 400W Max P4 Ready Power Supply. Will I be okay now with that power supply? I dont plan to do any O/C right away. Just wanna make sure everything is up and running.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.
Powmax doesn't make a very good quality PSU. You may be okay, but if you start getting random reboots or other odd problems, start to suspect your PSU.

I second that, all 3 Powmaxes I got blew within a few months (all in diff cases). IT will work to start, but plan on getting a better one.

I have had a powmax 600watt in a 1.8 overclocked to 2.46for 10 months now, and I have had no problems yet *knock on wood*.

I used to think that PowMaxes didn't go to the max but also didn't go pow, but what I've read over the past several months and my own 300W Powmax filing when a small capacitor in it failed makes me wonder if they're really any better than Deers.

Is it bad components or bad design that's making Powmaxes fail? I noticed that the capacitor that blew in mine was JEE or JGE, one of the brands famous for all the mobo failures because of the faulty electrolyte in them.

From pics I've seen, Leadman seems to do a slightly better job building their units than Foxconn (Deer), but the level of quality is still way below Fortron, CWT, and the other good makers. The transformers seem to be as substandard as a Deer, but the circuitry looks slightly better designed (and I mean very slightly ;) ). I did notice poor quality caps in the pics I saw as well.
