300W case, Acorp O/c Board, 900 Thunderbird 200 FSB, 40X Memorex cdrom, Sony Spressa cd-writer, 56 PCI, 10G HDD, 540M HDD, FDD, 1 front case fan, 1- 3 fan large drive bay fan, 1 back case fan, 1 power supply case fan. GlobalWin FOP32-1, ATI 8M AGP Expert Video card, 128M PC133, Windows 98 SE Full Install OEM. And best of all 2 case stickers... AMD ATHLON WHOOP ASS INSIDE and AMD ATHLON Like a PENTIUM on CRACK!!!

Ok, system fires up great! when i go to put in a music cd in the regular cdrom drive, the system locks up, then once in awhile it'll boot up, then all of a sudden act like it lost power and reboots, goes through the brief scandisk as if it were powered down incorrectly. System temp is 100 Degree's F, CPU Temp is 77 F, heat obviously isn't an issue. Also seems to lock up when I put my scanner ISA card in. So I solved that one by adding my scanner to my kids Puter (POS eMachine O/C'd to 501!!!!!) Someone please shed some light on theis for me...

Can you put a game in or any other type of c/d ??

Will that cd play on the writer ???

Do you have any trouble if you do not try to play that cd ??

Try to clean the CdRom Drive. I just replaced a cdrom Drive that would lock the computer up,and or tell me drive G unavialable.Swapped it out all is well.

I would give some serious consideration to looking at the power supply. I had lots of trouble with my CDrom until I upgraded to an Enermax 431.

check your irq assignments. sounds to me like you have your soundcard and some other devices stacked up on the same irq
