View Full Version : Soyo K7VTA+ duron 850...good or bad?
im wondering if i unlocked the duron would the borad letme change the multiplyer? and FSB? cause im getting pissed at this 550 athlon slot a....not so good with the KX-133 chipset, not so good for changeing FSB
and plus im selling this athlon 550....i can only get it up to 633, and when its at that it will lock up after awhile..about 10 mins

hey angry... i know how you feel...i have the same board (only with the ata100 support on the southbridge...k7vta-b)
no one would answer my posts when i had questions about it either!
problem is, no one has this board but us!
yes, you can change the multiplier if you unlock the L1's...there is a little blus set of four dip-switches on your board...if you look in your mobo manual it will tell you how to set them for different multipliers.
if you're lucky all of your dip switches will work! On my board, the third dip switch stays 'on' no matter whether i turn it to the 'off' position or not!
so the highest i can set my multiplier is 11.5!

oh, and you can change the FSB in the bios...up to 120...but mine wont go above 103!

On my k7vta-b, my 2 dip switch is stuck in the on position. Hmmm. Any else have this problem, or know how to resolve it?
