They are going out of stock and manufacturing, get it while you can.

Man, no kidding bill....$209 now for red board L shape and gold HSF. Allstar lists this card now as "new" so I don't think it's running out of stock yet.
What I wonder, is if these card's will all mod perfectly, and that the supply of questionable chips has run out. I mean, it's priced basically as a 9700 now.
I just picked one up the 29th for $139

Whoa, they have a retail Sapphire 9500np for $209, and a retail BBA 9500 Pro for $197.

Newegg just ran out of the red PCB 9500np cards.
Wow i got lucky at the last minute! Almost literally.
*mourns the death of the 9500 line...the greatest mainstream card of the directx9 generation so far*

This is horrible. I noticed the price increase slowly but this jump is horrible! The worst part is some of those cards still won't mod!

This is the biggest price jump i've seen for video cards, i got mine for 135 bucks at allstarshop, still only 30 percent chance of softmodding...so yea.

I found a deal on these cards, the price is still as low as they have been once, here is the link : http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?src=FG&item=35115
I picked one up, figure if I do get an L shaped one, ill send it back and eat the restock fee.
I started another thread in cyber deals, these are almost out of stock so get em while they are still here folks.

These cards are gonna be obsolete sooner or later. If u don't pick one up now u never will. But I'd just pay a few extra bucks and get a 9700np. I bought mine awhile back and I'm still enjoying it. I had originally bought a 9500np but bcuz the softmod didn't work for me I exchanged it for a 9700np instead. With a simple bios flash I now have a PRO. Currently running stable at 350/620 for everyday use and 400/640 for benchmarking. With some volt modding I'm sure there's more juice to be obtained. With the price of the 9500np up why not right?

Heh, paid 138 for my 9500np, could care less if it softmods or not, really dosent bother me. Ill probably oc it and run it for a few months until I can find something better. Need to replace my agin gf3, since I need an additional gaming card.
Edit (btw didnt see your sig, the 2.8ns 9700np's are hard to find, which is probably why your so happy with it, good card there bro)

Nevertheless, you gotta keep your eyes peeled for good deals. My friend picked up a Radeon 9500 np for $100 shipped online this past week and I picked up another 9700 PRO brand new for less than $200. :)

I have a few friends who game a lot and get video cards because they are sponsored or they won them so they sell them to me pretty cheap.

Yeah if you can find a 9500pro anymore these days then go for it. The 9500pro is the best videocard for the money except for a successfully hacked 9500np.

Even though the 9500pro is a great card for its money, the L shaped 9500 pro has that good 256bit bus, which is very good, especially if you oc that card.

Can you even oc the 9500pro to a 9700 too? I saw the omega drivers that turn the 9500np 128mb card into a 9800, is that true?

I believe 9500pro has the same clock settings as 9700np. The difference is that 9500pro has 128 bit bus while 9700 has 256 bit bus. You can OC your 9500 pro but it will never really equal the performance of a 9700 (and you can OC that too :))
The omega drivers just allow you to use the optimizations that is present on the 9800. Those optimizations are present in the Cat 3.6 drivers anyway so its pointless.

The 9500 pro never had a 256 bit bus otherwise it would be a 9700. The 9500 np could be made with a 256 bit bus only because losing the 4 pipes stunted it enough that it still didn't perform like a 9500 pro/9700 even with the added bandwidth.
Also, a 9500 can't be a 9800 because the hardware is a bit different, but if you can softmod and clock it to 9800 pro speeds it will be very close to 9800 pro performance and the omega drivers add some software stuff that the 9800's have with the 9500 hack I think. Thats why they say its a 9500--->9800 hack sometimes. Its similar to the 9800, but its not exactly a 9800.

I got mine today from allstarshop and I got checkerboards, in the Direct x 9 tests. I couldnt test 3dmark 2001SE since the Catalist drivers dont like it, do I need older catalist to run 3dmark2001SE? I tried everything...reinstalling drivers/drectx etc...
