Went over to someones house today...to check out his case and motherboard after his little explosion...comes to find out that the A7N8X-X NF2 MB (which is what they run) does NOT support dual channel memory...this was also confirmed by Asus Tech support...and on the product information page...A7N8X-X specs

"DDR400 (PC3200) Support

DDR400 (PC3200), the fastest DDR memory standard, supports bandwidth up to 3.2GB/s to provide enhanced system performance. "

But the A7N8X-VM (intergraded video) DOES support dual channel memory...and after doing a look of checking up...this seems to be the only NF2 motherboard out that does NOT support dual channel memory...but for how long

This is just a heads up to anyone thinking about getting the regular A7N8X-X motherboard...

actually other makers are looking into single channel nf2. it'll lower the price of the board 20-30 dollars. this is good considering it will make it compete directly against the VIA mobos but these mobos will still be superior cuz its an nforce2 and will have all the perks of teh chipest including the ultra chipset for 400 fsb. Remeber the performance difference between dual channel and single channel is small =d

personally i think this is a very smart move by nvidia. Not only did they take most of the high end mobo market from VIA they're gonna take the lower/budget end too =d
