Need a lot more information. What mobo do you have, RAM, etc.? What code is on the chip? You have to provide a lot more info before anyone can help you.

Yea, we will need some more info. Did you buy a "HP" or "Compaq"? If you did you could have a problem overclocking it. Most of the time these company's will lock out parts of the BIOS so that the average user can't screw things up and then have to call tech support. It will also be difficult to find out the motherboard manufacturer and in most cases it is a proprietary board, that is, it is made specifically for "HP" or "Gateway" and not a motherboard that you can purchase separately. Not all the time though. The first thing you need to do is get into the BIOS. You do this as the computer is booting by hitting the "del" key or maybe "F1", it really depends on your specific equipment and that is the information that we will need from you. Let us know.

If you have the gateway ms-6330 board you won't be able to oc it short of some mb surgery to add multiplier jumpers (this can be done) or modifying the bridges on the chip it self for a higher default multiplier.
you should also download sisoft sandra, from the internet you will find it useful for many thins like current cpu speed, also more info on your system can be found there.dont remember the link but you can search sisoft and will locate it.there may be electronic manuals to tell you these things or system info.
