i read it at other oc board, hope ya all can verify this. one claim to oc from T-bird 850mhz to 7.5 by 133mhz without unlocking the cpu. is it possible or is he just blowing hot air? i always thought you have to unlock the cpu unless it was done by manufacture. thanks

If you want to change the multiplier you have to unlock the cpu but you still can adjust the fsb even on a locked cpu. If you can get a 100 fsb chip to run at 133 or higher you will have a nice little oc. It is best to unlock the chip anyway it leaves more options open.

The guy is full of it, the default mult for the 850 is 8.5. You can't change that without having the proc unlocked. Anyhow, it's better to grab a defogger repair kit and unlock it anyway. It opens up alot more options for a good OC. :-)
