I'm buying an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe & p4 2.6c 800fsb and need to know what ram will give me the best performance. I plan to oc to 1000 fsb=3.25ghz. Should i get the dual 256 from Kingston Hyper X or corsair XMS. PC 3500, 3700? And what memory timings and divider would be best.

Also does anybody know if the big slk-900 u heatsink will fit on the P4C800-E Deluxe?

Any comments or suggestions would be helpfull.

OCZ PC3500EL will do just fine as you will not be able to use 1:1 divider on a 2.6C at top OC.

You might get better results with the OCZ PC3700 Gold for an Intel chipset board, although I think that it's more expensive.

get the dual channel 512mb (2x256) corsair xms pc4000 (ddr500) or pc4200 if you can afford it - that **** is fasssssst

I say get the OCZ 4000 Gold if you want to hit a 1k fsb. You might also get it on their 3700 too.

Morespeed.. Are you going for a 1:1 ratio, or a 5:4 ratio?

With a 5:4 ratio, you'll be fine with PC3200/PC3500 - buy good stuff though. With a 1:1 ratio, I wouldn't buy any less than PC3700, but I'd recommend PC4000.

Thanks for the post guys. I went with the Kingston Hyper X pc3700. I have it stock now but plan on running 235fsb (=940 fsb) Turbo mode with 1:1 on the ram for 470mhz with default timings. I want a milid OC without producing to much heat. I just ordered a speed controller because this 119cfm fan makes my ears ring.

Everything went well except i plugged my sata drives into the sata promise ata133 controller insted of the ICH5R 150ata on the South Bridge. Next week i plan switching to the ICH5R and reloading everthing.

Glad you asked about my Memory timings. Still at default.
Latency 2.5
Precharge 4
Delay 4
Precharge Delay 8
Burst Length 8

I'm going to leave my fsb at 235 which runs my DDR466 at DDR470. Anybody know what memory timings i should use?
