View Full Version : Codes: Are all TBird 1000/266 AXIA?
I am wondering, whether the advent of the 266 chips is linked to the AXIA code on the recent batch of more overclockable chips. So in addition to trying to find out whether all recently purchased Tbird 1200/1330s are AXIA, (here: http://forums2.overclockers.ws/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=2&TID=8926&SID=50276 ) I am also wondering whether the 1000/266 do come from Dresden and are encoded AXIA?
If you recently purchased a 1000/266 what was your code, and what was the color of the core?
Thanks again
Yo
OK - one indication for this is here:

From what I've heard all t-birds are now produced in dresden as the texas fab can't get much over 1 ghz. Texas is supposedly all durons now. I don't think the texas plant has ever made a 1ghz bird either, so even if you get an old 1 it should be a dresden cpu. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will stomp on me :) heheheh

I know that, but now that they have the 266 version, it would be cool if we knew that all 1000/266s are AXIA. $170 for 1.4GHz is a pretty good price performance ratio - he, he, he
I said in another post that like you, I have a hunch that all 1.0, 1.2 and 1.33 266s are AXIA. Would like to hear from anyone who bought one of the above that is not AXIA. My 1.0G/266 is on the way.

I read in another post that someone had a 1.2GHz T-Bird with AVIA code (don't know 200/266). I tried to go to all the local shops to check out the codes myself but would you believe that no one in Lafayette LA carries 1GHz processors in stock. Only 4 retailers in Baton Rouge carry them instock and they want $249-$309. And after I explained that I needed to see the actual chip and why I needed to see it they still wouldn't let me open the shrink wrap. I just ordered a 1GHz 266FSB and I am hoping for the best. I will let you know the code when it gets here.
Just got my 1.2G @ 266 today from TCWO. The Code is AVIA hopefully it will clock as good as the AXIA'S.
I got 1Ghz @ 200 a couple of days ago. I ask a guy at a local store to take a look at 1 Ghz CPU and he handed one to me with code AXIA0110BPAW. For $300 Canadian, I bought one without any hesitation. Right now it is only warm up at 11*100 = 1100 Mhz. At this speed, it is running cool at default voltage. I think 1.2 to 1.3 Ghz is within reach with air cooling. With water or some exotic cooling, 1.4 to 1.5 or even higher is feasible.

Hm, interesting. My 1.1GHz is AVIA - it clocks up to 1380 Aircooled
I just overclock my 1 Ghz "AXIA" to 10*137 = 1370 Mhz with default voltage and air cool with Alpha PAL6035. As I am typing right now, MBM shows a cool 28C. This 1 Ghz "AXIA" is really rocks. What more can I say?

Lust got it in today and it is an AXIA. got it from computer craft for $167 or $178 with the $10.99 shipping and handling charge.
My 1000 AXIA is 200FSB...go figure

AVIA is also good, though not as good as the famed AXIA.
However if this is the case , it destroys my theory, as it means it is not safe to assume that one could just order any 1000/266 from the cheapest source and assume it would be AXIA :-(

Sorry to disappoint you but this is not the case. My 1.13 GHz chip is an AVHA (yet to be overclocked). So, there's no magical "AXIA" only guarantee. That said, the 266 MHz chips have been fabricated more recently so they are MUCH more likely to be AXIA chips (since they obviously wouldn't keep producing old inferior cores unless AMD upgrades different parts of their plants separately).
I just orderer a 1GHz @266 from Tcwo.com I hope I get lucky and get an AXIA. I'll post what it is when I get it. I should see it on Tues. according to the ups tracking.
I just got a AVIA 1.2 200fsb chip. It was working great at 1370 until the tab on the socket broke off and the chip burned up. It's now the most expensive keychain I've ever owned.
