Could someone help with setting to overclock my k62500. I'm using a DFI k6xv3+66 board. I'm new to this and could really use some help.

I just recently tried to O/C one of these processors and it didn't like running much past 550 and even then it didnt seem to be 100% stable. I went from the x5 multiplier to 5.5. It didnt seem to like it when I tried to raise the FSB at all but that might have been the ram although I'm not sure.

when everthing was said and done he bought my old a7v and 800tb from me .
them chips don't work very well even the data base does not show to much overclocking to them

i've tried to get my k62 450 to run at 500, too many problems. you'll be lucky to get to 550 i guess. . .

My k6-2 500 would run stable at 550@2.4v
They hate runnin anything above 100mhz FSB.
A little hint for boards with 5.5x max multiplyer, set it on 2.0x and the amd k62's recognize this as 6.0x. (no ****)
I could never get stable at 600 and know of F***all ppl who have.

I have a K6 II 450 @ 504 4.5x112

very stable runs cool with a GORB

These things like to be cooled. This may be your prob. They also like their voltage. Try bumping the v up a point at a time till it runs stable.

With good cooling (i.e. most any decent cooler, even a gorb or pretty much any good sized socket A cooler) you can safely give the K6-2's plenty of voltage. Mine needed 2.8 volts to do 560 MHz, it didnt do much more, so don't expect the world.

I had a K6-2 450 AFX 2.2 V that easily overclocked to 500 with watercooling and 2.4V. Now I have a K6-2 500 AFX 2.2V overclocked to 550 2.5V whit a big heatsink and thermal compound, a 80mm case fan mounted on the heatsink and case ventilation. The fan and CPU are lapped. With standard heatsink then it only runs stable at 525 at 2.4V. Heat is a big problem.

i also have the same board but with a 550 k62 proccesor
so do i just have to increase the voltage to over clock ir?
