SURVEY-PENCIL TO UNLOCK CPU- HOW LONG IT LAST?

how long oc lasted before you had to do it over? just using pencil.

Mine lasted three days, if that. Wouldn't work again no matter what I tried. So I offered the pencil up as a virgin sacrifice to the overclocking gods and they bequeathed upon me the knowledge of the item number (910-3890) for the conductive pen at Radioshack. Works much better. :)

I used a soldering iron and just soldered it..

I used the pencil trick on my Tbird and it only worked for 2 weeks at a time then I had to redo them. That got old so I got some a rear window defroster repair kit with highly conductive paint and used a needle to fill in the L1 bridges and it worked like a charm:)

first off after a mnth or so it would fail for me

and i never got the *.5 multiplyers to work at all..not even boot

i used the window defroster repair kit about 6 months ago and i havent had a problem sence !

Dont dis the p4 dude i got a p4 from Dell and the thing works awesome i reformated like 100 times cause i kept installing diff OSes and stuff and the thing never broke down on me i only had a blue screen 1nce cause of a CDr prog i had installed CD Creator 5 btw i tested my athlon on 3dMark2000 and my P4 1400mhz 128RDRAM PC800 did better then my athlon by like 300 P4 is Geforce2 GTS 32mb guilimonet and My Athlon is 1.2ghz 266bus Radeon 32mb DDR with 128 offbrand memorey.

err... the geforce II is the reason the p4 did better. 3dmark2k primarily tests the graphics card, and the gts blows the radeon away in that particular benchmark. it's impressive that the athlon got the radeon so close to the gts, if you ask me.

My pencil trick has been going for 2 months with ne glitch at all.
I am currently @960 (9.5 x 101).No matter what i do the sucker wont go to a gig.I'm using 1.85v and the temps under prime are 44C.Do you think i need better cooling guys.Sys temp goes up to 25C sometimes.
