View Full Version : dudes, would a7v133 would post a duron at 100fsb or 133fsb?
i want to buy a7v133 + duron 800,
would the motherboard recognize my duron and run the board at 100 fsb?
or it will run the defoult 133 of the kt133a chip?
please help!
You will have 2 options.
1: if yo uunlock the Duron it wil lallow you to run at any Multiplier, and any FSB ( CPU is not limitation of you FSB. other components etc is).
You could easily run it at 150mhz FSB if you other components will handle it, but you will have to reduce you multiplier to around 7x.
2: Dependin upon how good your CHIP is and your cooling is is the limitation of how high you can OC you Duron. But You would need tsuper cooling(sub-zero) IMO to get your Duron800 to run at 8x 133 bus.
around 1000/1050 is going to be your limit, some alot less.
I would unlock your CPU, and play wit hthe FSB until you hit your max Mhz, and get it all stable.
As for if it will work for sure, Yes. had a D600 running 1 Gig on my A7V-133 Revision 1.1 fualtless :)
ok dude!
i was asking if the asus will boot up the duron at 100fsb or 133 fsb at first time?
or i would have to use jumpers?
YUP, mine did. i was wondering the same thing when i was setting it up.
100mhz then "dude". :)
on mine it boots all the CPU's at 100mhz, including the true 133 parts.
Odd, but safe.
thanx dude!
thats good news, because motherboards such as iwill kk266 boots with jumber settings or 133 or 100!
i will defenitly will take the asus one now, i recomend all other people do the same! especially if your getting a highe multiplier chip
