hi.... i have an asus a7n8x2.0 deluxe board with bios version 1003 and an amd barton 2500+. my problem is that the sound gets distorted when i play counter strike. its fine at first but then after about 20 minutes it gets distorted. by closing counterstrike and restarting it fixes the problem . but after awhile it would start to do it again. it gets kinda annoying to keep on having to exit out and restart again. i was wondering if anybody had the same problem and if they did how did they resolve it.
thanks in advance

well, might help to get the new bios(1005) at http://www.asus.com , and the new nforce2 drivers from http://www.nvidia.com

also might wanna put a heatsink on the southbridge

Nice advice...and just to add...the new NF2 drivers have helped with the cracking sounds I was getting and adding active cooling has helped when playing games for a few hours...the SB will run just as hot as the NB at times...so actively cooling the SB will help the fade when playing games...

what bios version are you guys using for the motherboard and what driver for the nforce chipset? is ok for me to jump straight to the 1005 bios from the 1003 one?

I use the 1004 since I do not have a rev 2.0...and yes it is ok to jump up to the 1005...might see a better improvement...and I use the new 2.45 Nvidia drivers...

thx

i just downloaded the driver package from asus and installed it. no more sound problems so far. but i didn't play for very long. hopefully its fixed. thanks to Molester and glock19owner for their help. i wouldn;t have know what to do
