ddr 2

will ddr II ram be compatible with current motherboards, such as the nforce 2 chipset? or is it designed to work on newer mobos that support the 64 bit processors? im trying to decide if i should get 512mb (2x256) of corsair xms LL now, and then get a gig ddr 2 when it comes out, or get a gig of ddr ram now... i dont want to invest alot in ddr ram if i will be replacing it with ddr soon, but if that means purchasing a new mobo and 64 bit processor...the price would be too steep to upgrade soon.

DDRII is not pin compatible with the current boards. The only DDRII chipset I know of that's coming out is the Grantsdale for Socket T 775 LGA for Prescott/Tejas.
