I'll take a stab at this. ;D Use an xacto knife with a new blade. Go slow, it may take a few scratches to separate the two lands. Verify with a powerful magnifying glass, jewelers loupe or microscope. I have not done this myself, but I have made small cuts like it before, suing an xacto knife.

I did EXACTLY as described above using a new blade on my exacto knofe and a magnifying glass just gently scratch at it a couple of times and the gold connecting the two points just comes away. BE GENTLE! i did it to lower the multiplier on my T-Bird 850 so i wouldnt have any problems with my KT133A mobo

Everyone should have an xacto knife and dremel moto-tool, with all the accessories. You can work magic!

It can be done, but teaching technique via a keyboard is senseless. Keep working the same spot. Ceramic is an excellent edge dulling substance. Change blades. I don't know what to tell you.
