Anyone have/know someone that has this card?

Any reviews? Comments?

the card is neat looking. Great idea it did not do as well as expected. A 9500 pro will thouroughly trash it, even a 9500 non pro running stock is a better buy.

If you are a dedicated nvidia fan search out a used Ti4600

Just my 2 cents worth

Err... a 9500 pro would NOT trash an FX5900. Not by far. You're probably thinking about some other card.

Anyways, I wouldn't reccommend any of Abit's OTES cards, as they all tend to have exotic cooling reminiscent of nvidia's own FX Flow, and they all tend to be painfully loud with no real o/c'ing benefits. Stick to another FX5900, or better yet a Radeon 9800np/pro.

ERR.........a 9800 wont even trash a 5900,either card is equally good.........................

I never said it did; however, the 9800np is a bit cheaper and definitely less buggy.

I didnt mention price, the ATI are a little cheaper than the Nvidia.
When the 9800 first came out they were just as high as the Nvidia 5900 when they first came out,but ATI lowered the price of the 9800 just before the 5900 became available. Now the 5900 have dropped a lot in the last few months, you can get a 126mb 5900 for around $325. The ATI harware is good no doubt but their drivers are still not very good, even though they have improved a lot. Weather the 5900 ultra needs the 256mb memory is debatable, the 128mb card can be overclocked to the ultra's speed quite easily,so there's not much need for thr ultra in most cases. Dont know what you mean by buggy, but there are no problems with the 5900 and 5900 Ultra. The 5800 was loud but non the less it is still a very good card. DOUG

/\/\/\/\ what Cisco said...

ATI's drivers have surpassed Nvidia's imo. I dont understand where people get this idea ATI's drivers arent very good. I own cards from both companys, and the Catalysts are what ATI has needed in a while. Stable reliable drivers.

Also ATI only releases WHQL certified... no beta or anything like Nvidia. And they release at least every 6 weeks.

There are issues with ATI drivers, there are some games that wont even play IMO, but then again everybody has one.

Planetside also has lots of lockup issues with ATI cards, as far as I know they have yet to be able to fix them.

I beta tested planetside.. no problem.. also Planetside is just plain buggy... I dont think its the drivers.

What opengl games?, I play plenty OGL games.. they all run fine. I have tons of games.. no problems at all.
Its funny how often peoples problems are between the chair and the computer. But they just want to blame the drivers..

Anyway tons of games here... no problems none what so ever.

Wait what!? How can that be an opinion!? Your opinion is that some games wont even play, wtf!? They either do or they dont... its not a matter of opinion

The original otes was really limited by its TSOP ram so its not fair to classify the ti4200 otes with the 5900 Otes. I actually like the way tehy look and it "should" cool better then a normal internal heatsink. And if its reminiscent of the original otes it shouldnt be very loud. I'd get it if its the same price as a normal card
