Did u get a 650MHz to do 1356MHz, without some high performance watercooling rig? What voltage did u run at?

Damn u where lucky when u got ur 650 replaced!

It's only a matter of getting rid of the heat and having a psu that can source the current. I would wager that a water cooled 156 or 172W peltier would get you almost there. With my PC outside the other night (Minnesota), I had my 600 up to 9x133 and I don't mean it only posted, only ran Windows, etc. I was running P95 Torture mode and 3D Mark 2001. The HDDs dindn't like the low ambient temp and were scratching at the door to be let in ;-)

I read at, and correspond with many overclockers. The 600 and 650 Durons were (and still are) the very best O/C'ers, out performing even the latest and bestest Tbirds, in their ability to O/C to the extreme.

In other words, they will O/C higher per frequency than all of the rest. Its like putting a 1 gig Tbird in the socket, and it will run at 2 gig first time...dosn't happen!!!

I wish you luck with the 850...You may be able to get it up to 1.3 ghz...hope so.

What killed yours?...heat from O/C'ng...or chipped it while removing or installing the HSF?...

I have to agree, I have two DURON 600's, each running great at over 1G air cooled, and a blue core T-BIRD 650 that won't do 900MHz.

put more voltage on that blue core

my t bird 950 blue core has been on 2 boards

here is what i did

A7V modded running 2.35 volts and temp of 55F got 1357

KT7A-RAID modded (phase one only) @ 2.11 volts and a temp of 55F 1275 (150 fsb)

blue core love more voltage

my blue core runs only 1100 mhz @ 1.85 volts

all of these test were ait cooled with the PC in the window sucking cold air in

so get your soldering iron out and modd that board and get all the BANG for your $$$

Chips are one thing, cracks are another. This severely chipped Duron 600 does 8x136 @ 1.9V.
