View Full Version : Which heatsink should I choose?
Iīm planing to overclock my 750Mhz t-bird to 1Ghz (or higher if possible) and I donīt know which heatsink I should use. The ones that are available for my is; Alpha PAL6035MUC, Alpha PEP66U ver. 2, SUPER ORB,GlobalWin WBK38. Combining Alpha PEP66U( or Alpha PAL6035MUC ?) with Delta Black Label 60x60x25 37.6cfm is also an option. I have two standard 80mm fans in my atx tower.

GlobalWin WBK38 Is what you want 7 or more people have recommended it if u dont go with that i suggest the headgehog heatsink which is copper if u can get it and get sum artic2 silver thermal gel.
I can get some artic silver thermal gel, but I have read that the GlobalWin WBK38 only is capable of 1.1Ghz
A tad of advice:
1) Stay away from the Chrome Orb. The clip on this system is dangerous, and a slip will cost you a cpu.
2) if an unlock of the cpu is necessary, use conductive ink (expensive) or get a defogger repair kit from your auto parts place. The stuff is made to repair the traces in the defogger...and works good.
3) Use a good light, a strong magnifying glass, and don't touch the processor while handling it with out discharging your self. The human body can (and quite often does) store up kinetic energy that can be in the hundreds of volts. (ever touch a door knob and get shocked?)
4) Be very carefull to just complete the small bridges without smearing the graphite or ink over onto another bridge.
I have posted links here in other threads to go read all about how to do this.
I found this link on this forum originally posted by tweak and it has great prices and $4.50 for shipping.
I searched tons of sites and they have everything you need cheap.
