i also don't want anything extremely loud but i dont need silence so i would apreciate any input
Do you have a price range in mind? That is probably the biggest governing factor. There are HSF from $20 to $75.

anything under 40 - 50 i would consider
i would recomend the thermoengine its one the best avialable right now it doens't wheigh a ton or have clip that is impossible to remove. It's 29 dollars at azzo (http://www.azzo.com) with standard fan and 39 with 7000rm delta that bitch puts out 38cfm but is louder than a jet plane

The ThermoEngine is good. I like the physics behind radial fins. There is also worth in size and whether it is forged, extruded or cast. The Taisol CGK 742092 is big and forged. Forging makes for higher density aluminum. Higher density makes for lower thermal flow resistance. The drawback of the Taisol is the wimpy fan. Buy the Taisol, throw the stock fan and adapt a Panaflo 80mm 39cfm fan on it. Adapting is no great feat of metal work. The Taisol goes for $23.00 and the better fan for $11.00 from KD Computers. $5.00 will cover the shipping. So, for a total of $39.00 you will have an excellent Aluminum heatsink, with a fan that is not loud. It gets my vote for the best retainer since it uses all of the tangs on your socket, not just one. So you spend an hour adapting it. There is pride in participating in your project.
