kinda pricey. 230+ for 2x256 of BH-5. i just bought some mushkin which is BH-5 for 133.20 for the same amount.

Actually it is $129.99 FREE SHIP for 512MB which is actually cheaper then what you got your for. It is $230 for 1GB (2x512) of WinBond CH-5

Wow, $120 for 512mb. Thats not bad... Of course, im still a cheap *** and waiting for it to be sub-100.

This should be in Cyber Deals, imo.

I'm getting Twinmos 512mb PC3700 with 4.3ns IC's for $119.98 at memoryx.net.

INSANE DEAL:
WinBond PC3700 512MB 466MHz or more - CAS 2.5 - Copper Heat Spreader
Price: $98.00

http://www.hardcorecooling.us/product.asp?0=200&1=201&3=427

Are those just highly-overclocked CH-5 chips or what's the deal with them? There so cheap, it makes it highly suspect, no?

edit: I've never bought from Hardcore Cooling, so I'm not sure. But they have a high ResellerRating score, prolly about 90% of theri customers are hardcore gamers/oc'ers.

The 512MB PC3700 WinBond-Chip memory has a high timing (2.5-3-3-6 2T), but is advertised with a decent Sandra score of 3580/3580 Int/Float.

I would stick with Mushkin where you know what settings you will get (222 stock) instead of a "maybe it will run good". No doubt these are good overclockers usually but for a couple bucks why take the chance?

I've ordered from HC Cooling a few times and they're very good.

Those modules are all o/c'd PC3200's. There's a few OCZ's that use 4.5ns IC's but way overpriced IMO.

$50-80 is a little more then what I would call "a couple bucks".

512MB Mushkin (2-2-2) PC3200/PC3500 LVL2 costs $180 (After 10% Coupon) with shipping cost included.

While HardCore Cooling is offering 512MB PC3500, with the exact same chips used in Mushkin LVL2, for $130 (inc. shipping).

And, as Bobby said, TwinMos PC3700 512MB is going for $120 at memoryx.net .

Getting a WinBond CH-5-chip memory for $100 for 512MB is a good deal, if it can be checked out first.

add:
HC Cooling selling $120 for OCZ EL DDR400 is a good deal. The next cheapest is $135 over at GameVE.Com. OCZ EL-series performs on-par if not better then Corsair LL and Mushkin LVL2 memory.

newegg has that buffalo memory with the winbond chips for only $89 for 512mb. Im thinking about getting a gig of it but I want to be sure that I will be able to get atleast 200fsb from it. Do you guys that I will be able to get its rated speed without a problem??

The WinBond CH-5/BH-5-chip "contest" seems to be:

$93 - 512MB Buffalo PC3200 (NewEgg)
$103 - 512MB Buffalo PC3700 (NewEgg)

$120 - 512MB OCZ EL DDR400 (Hardcore Cooling)
$100 - 512MB (Generic-Built?) WinBond CH-5?(or BH-5?) PC3700-rated (OC'd) (Hc Cooling)
$230 - 1024MB (2x512MB) (Generic-Built?) WinBond (CH or BH-5?) PC3500 (OC'd) (Hc Cooling)

$135 - 512MB Mushkin Black LVL1 (WinBond CH-5 chips)

IBuyXG.Com seems to be having a sale on Kingston PC3200 (CH-5 Chips) Hyper-X 512MB for $109.
