I have a wire running through a wall to my reciever in the living room so that I can listen to my tons of music on the good system. The only problem is that I can't control volume and track number without getting up and walking to the other room. Volume isn't as important as being able to switch the track. Anyone know of anything? Wired, Infared, Radio Wave, anything!
Thanks,
Chris

i'm slightly confused... so i'm gonna assume a few things. one, you're using the comp to play the music. two, the comp is connected to the reciever.
if that is the setup, then i'd recommend the ati remote wonder. its a usb radio/wireless remote. my roommate had it, and it controlled volume, and next/previous track selection, play/pause, stop, and other things. range was pretty decent, considering that my dorm had concrete walls surrounding everything.

thats exactly what I'm talking about. RF would be best. Among that one, I found another that uses infared but that would require me to put another hole in my wall for LOS. http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/5a20/
The one you pointed me to could be on the very edge of range that I need.
Thanks for the help
