If I rember correctly the Ti-83 runs at 8MHz defult and if you change one of the resitiors on the board you can increase it to 10 Mhz, I think the numbers are a bit larger for the Ti-83 Plus Sliver additions thought. The reason for the restior on the board was to make the proccesser run cooler, I think. This would also mean that your battery life would decrease.

Wow, people will overclock anything! lol I couldnt imagine why someone would oc a Ti83 other than simply being a fun project. Or maybe you could get a few more FPS out of the snake game!

I wouldn't know, I just upgraded from my 83+SE to an 89... :D The 83+SE was broken, the link port was broken from someone I know (AKA me.. ) accidentally using a broken link cable in it, and it also broke my black-link... I was able to fix the black link by carefully removing the cover (with a mini-crowbar and a butane blowtorch :D ) and bending the connecting prongs back out. I couldn't do it to the calc, though, because I didn't want a "naked" calculator... If I could find one of those triangular screwdrivers, I would be able to fix it... Anyone know where I can find one?
