I am on Neweggs site right now and about to purchase a Fortron PSU but I am curious as which one is the "good" one to purchase. They have about 5 different 350w ones and a couple of 400w ones.
I see they have a 530w for $75.00 which I think that is the one I am going to buy.

I wouldn't mind spending a little cheaper but hell they have so many different ones. :(
I am running 1.2 t-bird with 3 SCSI drives and 1 wd 8mb drive. My system randomly reboots so I think it is time to replace the PSU.

Any suggestions on which one to buy? I would like to get this rolling tonight.
Thanks.

The 350 with the 120mm fan or the 530 would be the ones I'd personally want... the first for being quiet and the second for being powerful enough to run anything I could throw at it ;)

For a rig like yours the 350 (or even 300W) models are fine. I would be tempted on your position to get the 300W 120mm fan model that is about 30 bucks and buy a more powerful unit when you need it. The 300 will still be valuable as a backup/test powersupply and whatever you buy down the road in a high output supply will liekly be a better value than today's choices.

Allright cool. I am going to buy a 350w I think. Funny how my Antec 400w is going out and I am buying a 350w.

:)

Thanks guys.

you could always whoop out your multimeter to check to be sure it's your PSU failing on you.. otherwise it's kind of a waste.. i always though antec was a pretty good brand for power supplies.

I was was at a 50/50 chance of getin either the Antec Truepower 430 or the Fortron 530. The antec was like $5 cheaper also... but cause of everyone's praise for fortron and how underrated they are, I hoped the 18A on the 12v would beat out the antec's 20.

Well I just bought the FORTRON350 FSP350-60PN

Hopefully this will do the trick. :)

If that Antec 400 is the pp412x it's the same unit as my PSU - a good one for sure, but it's not quite a Fortron level unit and that one fan can get loud. I would keep it for a backup if still working properly.

Well I do actually have alot of stuff running off of this 400w and it has been about two+ years now.
I was waiting for it to go...

Hmm I will see how this Fortron does.
