If it's a stock air cooled card, that's OCed alot. In fact I would have to see it to believe it running 3D Mark.

Well if that is a stabile OC and can complete 3dmark 2k1 a few times looped then that would have to be a "10" for an OC. You never did say if you where cooling with air or liquid. If that is a liquid cooled OC then it is pretty well attainable, but for air I would have to question the stability of your OC, especially on the GPU OC, the memory OC doenst seem too bad. I have hit that high on the memory with my TI4200 but it wasnt fully stabile after about a half hour of gaming.

woah, totally what i was NOT expecting.....

i am air cooled but NOT using the stock cooler. i replaced it with the iceberq4 pro hsf and ramsinks. plus a combination of 10 case fans.

i've completed 3dmark 2003 with a score of 1781 which i think sux ass because people try to break the 5,000 point which seems to be when it's really good.

plus, my fsb is at 200 if that tells you anything(see below in my sig)

the FSB of 200 wont help much in 3dmark03, 2001 was the bench that was heavily affected by RAM and FSB

sorry, i'm a noob. i just started oc'ing video cards a week ago and still in the learning process.

i've been reading about results from 3dmark 2001 this whole time. that's where i got the "breaking the 5,000 point" thing.

now i just read a different thread about 3dmark 2003 and seems like everyone else is around the same neighborhood as me (1781). something about direct x.9 or something.

i didn't know there was a difference between 3dmark 2003 and 2001.

so i am downloading 2001 as i'm typing this. 47% complete to be exact:p

i'll post my results from 2001 in about 20 minutes.

hopefully it'll be greater than 5,000.

i'll keep u guys posted.

this is GAY

i got 3221 in 3dmark 2001SE

and this is with all my overclocks.

WTF??? i thought i was able to break 5,000.

what is going wrong here?

n00b needs help!

i think i know why my score was so low....

antialiasing was on 4XS and anisotropic filtering was on 8X

i tuned them down to the lowest settings and i got 8195 in 3dmark 2001SE.

when people do benchmarks and post them, is the score with the highest settings?

EDIT: i meant tuning down the settings on my video card, not in the 3dmark proggy

nope they use the lowest quality setting for the v-card, and default ones for 3dmark(if you change these your score really isnt valid)

my card (in my sig) oc'ed to 322/629 max overclock being stable. Thats the max stable overclock btw so eh, but uh ... yours looks like its maxed out as well. the ram can go a little higher if you use the coolbits.

Wow man.. somethings still wrong with 8k... I can hit 8k with an athlon at 2000+ speeds, a 300fsb, and stock geforce 4.... Hmm.. Looks like you may have the same prob as me.. I upgraded my memory amount by 2x, and the speed(PC133 to DDR) and It LOWERED my score like 10 pts.. WTF?

EDIT: forgot a 0 lol....

can you publish your score and link me? because I get 8200 on a geforce4 mx440, it should not be outperforming your ti4200. and my ti4200 gets me over 13k marks. Nice overclock but the performance still sucks

Your 2600 @ 200 fsb AND the GF 4200 running that far OCed should get about 13,000 in 3DMark 2001SE running at the default 1024x768x32 resolution. Use no AA or any other video options. Also choose "best performance".

8000 sucks for that setup. Check memory timings which are usually safe, normal, fast, fastest, turbo. That can make up about 800 pts there but I can't explain that crappy score.

13K?!?!?!

what's wrong with my setup??? what do u guys think it is?

try runnig it at stock and see what scores you get, sometimes scores start droping if you push the o/c to far. just a thought.

Also you might wanna do an OS scrub...and post a link like OC'er said

ok thanks guys

i'm actually at work right now and i will publish and post the link as soon as i get home and run the tests.

i'll do both o/c'ed and @ stock and post both.

**p.s. i sell computer hardware and we just got in the 9800 pro's and i was sooooo close to purchasing it....but after the hype died down after about 4 hours, i've decided to stick with my new ti 4200 for a little longer than 3 days.....lol**

Something is most definitely wrong with your 8 k score. My friend got his Visiontek Xtasy gf4 ti4200 from stock up to 340 core/644 mem (yeah 644 mem). Stock cooling on all. He was scoring 13.3 k in 3dmark01se. So something is definitely wrong with that. And he had basically the same setup as you. I myself with my o/c'd 9500 pro am scoring 15,237 in 3dmark01 and 4700 in 3dmark03. I consider that pretty good for a 9500 pro =-) Although my memory clock FREAKIN SUX.

In your sig is says that you have 13 fans  !! With those many fans your airflow prolly isnt to great. Too many is worse than just a few setup in the right spots to get a good forward to back airflow (or something similar).

The project id is not valid - please check the URL. you forgot to publish it man

I'll bet he has AA on or some other video glitch. He is only getting maybe 2/3rds of what he should.

like i said in the other thread, i think it's because i didn't have my nforce2 driver installed. it was the only way to have my ti 4200 work.

like i said before, i turned everything down....or off....or to minimal settings when tested in 3dmark01

That makes sense. With VIA chipsets, if u dont install the "4in1" drivers you vid works slowly. I would imagine that without your Nforce2 chipset drivers you're screwed. U have to get them in there somehow.

it's a working progress. i left it to our comp technicians at my work. they have all the tools.

i'll update as soon as a find out and this case will FINALLY be closed.

i truly appreciate all the effort guys.
