Ok.....I went out and bought a new t-bird gig cpu. I come home expecting it to plug right in and boot up dandie...hell no...i got no bios on screen and she just sat there running. Now I thought well lets clear the bios, nope didnt work...what about insert key..nope that didnt work either. So mabey my mobo was fried...I take that back and got a brand SPANKIN new one...nope didnt boot up. Well my mobo is M7VKB Biostar...yeah yeah i know its not T-OF-L but hey, it works great with my 900 tbird. Now im wondering if the cpu the store gave me is 266 FSB because it was brand new -OEM- but i cant get it to boot. Not in my asus A7V (200 mhz cpu bus) nor my Biostar (200mhz cpu bus). How do I tell if its 266 chip?? Is the chip DOA??
the codes are as follows

A1000AMT3B
AVIA0110BPCW
95164680620

I think that the last letter of the first line identifies a chip as 200 or 266 - B indicates 200, C indicates 266. If this is true (not certain, just looked at the codes here: http://www.dabs.com/amd/amd.asp?s=146 ) then yours is a 200MHz bus chip, and is probably dead if it won't post. I'd take it back for a new one.
